Six months before obtaining their "Abitur" or "Fachhochschulreife", the 2018 school graduates were surveyed for the first time on various topics, such as their plans for the time after graduation or their personal career and life goals. Around 38,000 students nationwide took part in this first survey.
This was followed by up to three further surveys for the school graduates who had provided their contact details. These surveys focused, among other things, on the educational, professional and employment histories after leaving school, the experiences gained and the assessment of future career prospects.
At the end of 2024, students of the 2018 graduating class will be surveyed for the fifth time. In this survey we want to find out what paths school graduates have taken in the meantime. For example, we are interested in whether they have transitioned to employment or pursued further educational qualifications. We ask how this transition has gone and what respondents’ plans for the future are.
